A Review of Wonderful ResLife Garden Social

Celebrating a Year of Connection, Laughter and Community

As the academic year gracefully drew to a close, the LSE ResLife team hosted a truly heartwarming Garden Social at Passfield Hall, and I couldn't think of a better way to wrap up the year!

All ResLife society members and participants were invited, making it one of the few moments we could gather in person after a year that had mostly been filled with online collaboration. For many of us, it was our first time meeting face-to-face. We exchanged stories about our degree programmes, schools, future plans, and of course, the countless ResLife events we took part in over the year. It was an afternoon full of discovery, laughter, and a sense of belonging that made our ResLife journey feel even more meaningful.

The event was made sweeter by a lovely spread of treats. There were buttery croissants, fresh fruits, crispy nachos, and other delightful nibbles that kept us energised and mingling. But the real showstopper was the face-painting station run by ResLife team members! Every guest received a cute and creative face painting—some with stars, some with flowers, all filled with colour and joy.

We had so much fun with the games! From the suspenseful egg-and-spoon race to the chaotic joy of the sack race, to the much-anticipated Bingo round (which featured some surprisingly competitive players!), the energy was sky-high. Lucky Bingo winners even walked away with thoughtful prizes—one of the many ways the ResLife team made everyone feel special.

As the sun began to set, we headed inside for a hearty buffet dinner at Passfield Hall. It was the perfect time to relax, chat, and laugh with friends new and old. And just when we thought the evening couldn’t get any better, each guest was handed a farewell gift from the ResLife team—such a kind and thoughtful gesture that truly touched us all.

I left the Garden Social with a full heart and a full stomach, reminded of how lucky I am to be part of such a supportive and vibrant community. Huge thanks to every LSE ResLife member who worked tirelessly to make this year’s events happen—you’ve brought joy, connection and a real sense of home to so many of us living in halls.

Here’s to an amazing year gone by, and to all the friendships and memories we’ll carry with us.
